|
|
I installed the PSS 777 on my FS9 and have had nothing but trouble.
When I try to fly the PSST7, I get a flickering dual image of two planes in my setup (create a flight) page of FS9, one of the saved flight plane, a 767 and the PSS777, both superimposed on each other while they flicker and spin around. When I click to fly, the screen goes black and the computer freezes with the two planes still flickering and spinning around together in the view box. After a few tries of escaping, I get an error message; "The squawkbox module was unable to start because FSUIPC could not be initialized. Ensure the FSUIPC is properly installed and restart FS to try again".
I hadn't even tried to fly online, although I do have Squawkbox 3 installed.
I wrote support at PSS and they said that I could never load any payware models on the "Create a flight" page, it had to be started in the "Select a flight" page. That was news to me. I have other payware planes that work fine in the Create page. PSS also said, "Our product is a sophisticated rendering of the real aircraft and uses many custom gauges. It was not made to be compatible with 3rd party add-ons".
It is a nice plane when I rarely get it to work. But the AT/AP won't work and my FS9 is messed up with freezes, flickering planes and weird partial macro views of the FS pages. I uninstalled it and tried again like they said, but still the same problems. I wonder if they refund.
I have no idea how to intitialze an FSUIPC or where in the h*** to find all that stuff. What version of FSUIPC should I be using? I'm not very computer literate, nor totally clueless, but now I'm feeling totally retarded at this point.
Thanks for any help, Monty |

Not really a PSS support page, but for FS9 you need to be using FSUIPC version 3.x I think its up around 3.75 or something like that.
PSS are very nice aircraft but can be very power hungry, you may need to trun your display sliders down a little for it to work. As for working 3rd party addons like SB3 there is no issue between and it should work just fine. |

Thanks! I'll try cutting back on display. Apologies for PSS support, I'll behave. FSUIPC is still somewhat of a mystery, one of those things hidden deep in the dark and misty parts of my PC.
Back to the original Error message problem of properly installing the FSUIPC and initializing it - How and where would I go about doing it? |

| Just copy FSUIPC.DLL in to your FS\modules folder thats all you need to do, if you have SB3 installed and running than FSUIPC is already there doing its thing |

I think I fixed it. The problem was that Squawkbox had somehow disappeared when I installed the T7. I found a 3.7x version of a FSUIPC.DLL somewhere on my computer and copied it to the FS9 module. When I did that the Squawkbox came back and all worked.....if I just dare re-install the T7.....
Thanks! |

Backup your FSUIPC.dll, then reinstall T7, then recopy the FSUIPC.dll.
Hopefully this will resolve your issues. |
