Deicing trucks and other ground vehicles are not permitted on VATSIM. As such there is no need to add one to the modelset.

I think they should, If there trying to bring realism into the network then why not allow that. Maybe limit the number of users allowed to use that feature, Really only need it in Canada and Russia....Its no different then having OBS, Becuase all the OBS does is site there and listen to controllers and take up space. What difference does it make that someone is a deice truck and acutally doing something. Although the person might need to download the model with SB or FS-Inn, it might be a neat feature, or the follow me truck, you only need 1 or 2 for every 40 airports, We dont have enough players online that i should be a problem.

Anyways just thoughs

Have a good one,

Chriger

Well you almost got it.
Yes OBS just sit there, and I think that's the point.
They are not interferring with operations as much as someone driving around would do.

What would really be the point of logging on to VATSIM to de-ice anyway?

If you really want de icing and tugs as well as payload operators go get AES from aerosoft.

AES by Aerosoft

It adds all the eye candy to an airport anyone could ever want.

And it keeps the virtual grounds clear.

Cheers

Like Clarke says, you are nearly there.

An OBS however only recieves packets. A person connected as a deicer / follow me or whatever both sends and recieves packets.
