If I first use servinfo or the squawkbox utility to find out where there are controllers at that particular time, can I then just file a plan for that area (where ever in Europe it might be), get over there as quick as I can and fly with voice. Or does the time it takes to file a plan often mean that the controller has often logged off before the process is complete - meaning you've lost your chance to fly with a controller?
Thanks

If you are using ServInfo, you can click on the controller and see how long he has been on-line (Time Logged). If the controller has been on on for a couple of hours, he may or may not be there by the time you set up a flight. If he has only been on for 15-60 minutes, chances are that he may still be on-line for a while.

| Just got an email from VATSIM that VATspy is out, think it does basically the same thing as Servinfo, the info reads like its a updated Servinfo type app for VATSIM pilots. |
