|
|
I installed SB3 normally. I start FS, check if I can start SquawkBox3 within FS. So I go to menu Modules (where are the 2 items 'FSUIPC' and 'Start SquawkBox') and select 'Start SquawkBox'. Everything is fine, I'm happy.
I closed FS and in the evening I wanted to fly online. I start FS (I didn't change anything this day), go te menu "Modules".... only FSUIPC is visible, where has 'start squawkbox' gone?
I can't start sb within FS anymore because it's not in the list anymore. I am able to play online with the external sb, but why is the inside one removed?
Greets,
Peter |

This is a known issue.
After a short while, the menu item *should* come back, but we have seen situations where it did not, normally because SB3 did not close properly.
I cannot find the bug on the list, but I know it exists.... |

I had this happen during testing, and the way to aviod it is to make sure you always disconnet SB3 before you hit the quit button.
If you find this happens again, I was able to get the module back again immediately by rebooting the computer. |

| First off, I want to thank all those involved in making Squawkbox 3 a reality. Your hours of diligent work are very much appreciated. I think it is a great program. I just wanted to report having this problem as well. It was a little disconcerting : having the "start squawkbox" in the modules pull down menu for one session, only to have it disappear in the next. I did an uninstall and reinstall the first time it happened, and it seemed to fix the problem Then it happened again today. When I exited FS9 and restarted it, the line "start squawkbox" was back again. Since I run everything on one computer, I prefer to have SB3 run as a module as opposed to an external winwo that you can't quite get off the screen. Well, anyway, that's my two cents worth. |

Thank you for your replies,
I found out it especially happens when loading a PMDG aircraft. When I start FS, and take the cessna on any airport, I can select 'Start SquawkBox'. But when I choose a PMDG aircraft from the 'Select Aircraft' menu, or even when I just started FS, the 'Start SquawkBox' menu is gone.
So maybe PMDG is somehow also the problem for removing it from the menu, but I ain't sure.
Greetings, Peter |

Hi Peter!
What is a "PMDG aircraft"? Other than that, I think I know what you are getting at. If I continue to have trouble with this, I will use the default flight at start up (Cessna 172 @ KSEA), as opposed to using "Previous flight", and see if this fixes it. Thanks! |

I would suggest that you have FS start with another aircraft, such as a C172 for example, allow SB3 to autostart, then you can change to PMDG or whatever else you like.
My start-up window is the start screen where I can set aircaft, location, fuel/payload, and time. SB autostarts as soon as that page loads, at which point I change (often to the PMDG) without incident and fly all day long. |

I have just departed EGLL in the PSS A319. SB3 module was showing and I have selected it and set it up without any problems. However, after departure I noticed that the menu for SB3 has dissapeared, so I'm just hoping it does reappear.

Once SB3 is started, it WILL disappear from the modules menu. If it is already started, why would you need to re-start it? The only thing that link does is to start the module, once started there is no further use for it, so why should it still be there?
This is normal, and is not a problem. |

Thanks Craig,
I didnt realised it dissapeared during a flight. I was a little concerned to see it dissapear thats all, after all FSUIPC and other mdules that are being used do not suddenly dissapear.
Thanks |

| SB3 disapperars from your module listing becuase you don't want to accidentaly attempt to run a 2nd instance of the dll. |
