Given that FS connect is the way forward, one of the things that would be fantastic to have on the remotely connected version of SquawkBox would be a GPS out function, to allow connectivity to mapping software.

| That is something FSUIPC already does. I would imagine it would need to be something that Simconnect could do. |

Thanks Norman
I am already using this functionality in FS9, but want to avoid paying for a licenced copy of FSUIPC for FSX - FS Connect I guess provides the "raw" data to make it happen

I would imagine so. As such somebody would need to write a Simconnect application to utilise it.
On an aside, anybody have any luck with creating a virtual com port in VISTA? Whilst I have the GPS out functionality and can get the data back into a networked VISTA box sadly I can't use it without the com port. |

Hence the suggestion perhaps as an addon to Squawkbox on the basis that squawkbox 4 presumably will offer both direct and newtworked connecitivity and the "remote" squawkbox knows the location of the aircraft.
It might even be an "addon" that the Squawkbox team could charge for as it's not directly related to VATSIM connectivity as I am sure many would make use of it and pay a few $$ for. |

Roy,
SB remains as a tool to get members connected online to VATSIM. What you are looking for is outside of it's remit. |
