I'm waiting my new PC to reinstall everything, I plan on testing World of AI, which seems to be the one everyone is using once I have it working with World of AI I will post the SMS.. I guess it will take three to four weeks as some components are not available yet, namely the Noctua cooler
will keep you guys posted. |
Hmmm, sound very nice to me. WAI looks really good. And Noctua too.
And just for information, skAI seems to be working with SB4(3). I was making few experiments yesterday and after few attempts SB4 doesn't generate any error messages about skAI. At least SB4 accepts ska.sms file with few skAI airctafts (with modified names).
Now I wil try to put in there more usualy seen aircrafts types and airlines and test it.
Only boring thing is now to modified every aircraft name entry then put this name into sms file. This wil take a lot of time. |

Quick info: Flight1 UT works. skAI works fine (just mostly used acf added, 73x, ATx, 74x).
But few problems appear. both AI planes types from UT and skAI doesn't has landing gear. Gear is in up position for all time, so planes hovering about few ft above ground.
skAI sms file announces error about too many tokens at line xxxx. Deleting problematic line doesn't solve anything. Line number just change. Only solution is limited number of planes in sms file. But creating splited sms like ska.sms and skb.sms doesn't have right effect. Token error still remain in second, skb, file. It's looks like SB4 have enough of skAI planes and don't want load more of them. Who knows.

That's a common known "bug" or better "missing feature" of SB. |

|
|
Here's what I did.
1. Installed UT for FS9 (it's the version I purchased back in 2004 or so). No problems on install.
2. Ran the Compiler in UT.
3. Ran FS9 at 100% traffic -- beautiful! Lotsa planes at KCLT on the ground.
4. Downloaded the SMS Creator to a temp directory
5. Copied all the AI aircraft folders from FS9/Aircraft directory to the temp directory mentioned above.
6. Ran the vbs file, chose 'SB4' for my three-character identifier.
7. Answered a few questions about invalid ICAO codes for aircraft; entered proper ICAO codes (A321 for A320, B764 for B767, CRJ2 for CARJ, etc.).
8. After the SMS file was created, moved the SMS file to my c:\program fiules\squawkbox\aircraft folder.
9. Copied the 'altered' AI aircraft folders back to FS9/aircraft directory, replacing the original AI aircraft folders (yes, I kept a copy of the originals in a separate directory).
10. Reran UT Traffic compiler.
Fired up FS9 (offline) -- no traffic -- not even one plane.
What did I do wrong? I have not yet tried to use the sms file in an online session, so I am hoping at least that will work. I rarely fly offline with AI traffic, but the failure to se AI traffic offline makes me worry that, perhaps, the SMS file won't operate properly, either.
One final question: Is the order in which the SMS are accessed in SB4 important? Should I place the newly-created sms file above the two that came with SB4?
Thank you for any help you can offer. |
