I'm pleased to announce that SquawkBox is powering the plane visualization portion of VRC Tower View, the new mode of the VRC controller client. This functionality will be featured in the upcoming 1.1 release of the software written by Ross Carlson. Controllers working tower and other on-airport positions will be able to view aircraft as they taxi, take off and land.

SquawkBox version 3.1 is finally ready. There were a number of issues that arose while the beta testers were looking at it so that's why the release was delayed. However it should be a really solid build that addresses a number of problems both serious and minor. In particular, if any of you have had problems in the past with hanging, severely low frame rates or random crashes, you should definitely give this build a try.
